A Malosa – Éntoma

A Malosa vineyard is located in the Don Fiz area, in the centre of the Galir Valley. It is a single plot of 21 hectares where the first vines were planted in 2015, and every year four new hectares are planted to increase the surface area of the vineyard.

This unique plot offers enormous possibilities, with different soil types, (both slate and clay), different orientations and a difference in altitude ranging from 400 to 600 metres above sea level. The combination of all these elements provides a unique blend of soils to produce different local grape varieties.

Éntoma

In Éntoma there are more than 30 hectares of vineyards spread over different plots, with clay loam and slate soils. The vines on these plots were planted in 1998 and have been producing grapes for Virgen del Galir ever since. The soil is deep, but with excellent nutrient and mineral retention.

As Ermitas

As Ermitas vineyard is located next to the river Bibei, which separates our area from the Ribeira Sacra. It consists of two plots with vineyards planted during the last decades. A Villeira, is 0.4 hectares of granite walled centenary terraces, facing east, 700 metres above sea level, with soil formed of decomposed granite. Los Carismáticos, a small plot over 50 years old with poor, shallow sandy soils formed by decomposed granite, is the perfect plot to preserve the Merenzao grape and produce the characteristic wine that bears its name. 

A Villeira

Our plot A Villeira is located in As Ermitas. It covers an area of approximately 0.4 hectares, arranged among more than a dozen centenary stone terraces and granite walls.

The orientation is east and the soil is sand formed by decomposed granite, poor and shallow.

At the beginning of the estate there is an old wine cellar (classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest) which we are restoring in order to be able to produce wine there in the near future.
