The appointment of <strong data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"760\">Miguel Tienda as Winemaker of the Year<\/strong> and the selection of <strong data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"826\">Regueir\u00f3n 2024 as White Wine of the Year<\/strong> place the project among the leading names in Valdeorras today and confirm the solidity of a path defined by observation, learning and the pursuit of finesse as a hallmark.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Virgen del Galir: a decade of learning now bearing fruit<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recognition rarely comes suddenly when a project is truly solid. In the case of Virgen del Galir, the results achieved in the <em data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1218\">Top 100 Galicia 2026<\/em> report \u2014with Regueir\u00f3n 2024 named <em data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1277\">White Wine of the Year<\/em> and Miguel Tienda recognised as <em data-start=\"1310\" data-end=\"1333\">Winemaker of the Year<\/em>\u2014 confirm a body of work built harvest by harvest over recent years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1969\">Beth Willard, author of the report, highlights the boom in new plantings and varieties such as Albari\u00f1o and Godello, whose vineyard surface has increased by more than 70% over the past decade, driven mainly by Galicia. \u201cIn Valdeorras alone, Godello has almost doubled its vineyard area during this period,\u201d she notes. Today, the focus is on finesse, on delicate, floral profiles, especially in Godello. \u201cEach harvest has been a lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"3680\" data-end=\"4037\">Learning does not stop in Valdeorras. \u201cOur passion for wine, and our desire to keep learning and discovering other regions and styles, also shapes what we try to extract from the vineyard,\u201d he says. A site that delivers expressive yet restrained fruit. \u201cRegueir\u00f3n has something wild about it \u2014 it\u2019s very Galician,\u201d Tienda sums up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"5002\" data-end=\"5390\">Born in Do\u00f1a Menc\u00eda (C\u00f3rdoba) in 1979 and now based in Cacabelos (Le\u00f3n), Miguel Tienda joined Virgen del Galir in 2018, when the winery was acquired by CVNE.
